Study: Smokers Who Quit Before 40 Live Longer

Updated:

New research shows smokers who quit before age 40 can live just as long as people who never smoked.

Researchers found people who quit smoking between ages 35 and 44 gained about nine years.

Those who quit between ages 45-54 gained six years.

About 30 million young adults around the world start smoking every year.

Experts say if trends continue, smoking will kill about one billion people in the 21st century, compared to a 100 million in the 20th century.

A gym in Atlanta is offering a new workout machine that doesn't require people to do much work.  It's called a whole-body vibration machine.

All you have to do is just stand on a vibrating platform.

Experts say as the platform moves, it throws your body off-balance just enough that your muscles contract and get a workout.

The people doing the no-work workout say it has improved their circulation and weight and makes them feel good.
