Seattle Holds the "Lynch" Pin of Packers Run Defense

Updated:

The Green Bay Packers run defense will be put to the test Monday night in Seattle.

After a failing grade against the San Francisco 49ers, the unit responded by holding the Chicago Bears in check, allowing them to tee off on Jay Cutler.

The longest run by a Bears back last Thursday was just eight yards. The Packers swarmed to the ball and did not miss many tackles.

That will be the recipe for success Monday night against the Seahawks.

Rugged Marshawn Lynch leads the NFC in rushing and put up 122 against the Dallas Cowboys.

His reputation for breaking tackles reached mythical proportions in the playoffs two years ago and it remains in place today.

"He's probably one of the strongest backs in the league. You see that guy break a lot of tackles, and he runs hard. We will need to put a lot of hats on him," Packers defensive tackle Ryan Pickett said.

"Man, he's a great back. He's strong and fast. They have a great O-line. But at the same time, if we play with good gap integrity and tackle well, we can hold this guy down," Packers defensive lineman Jerel Worthy said.
