Thank you for your interest in advertising with WBAY.com. Contact us today to find out how we can incorporate your initiatives in ways that only WBAY-TV and WBAY.com can achieve.
WBAY can extend your brand with interactive content that goes beyond TV to allow the viewer a more in-depth, personal experience. We'll work with you to develop customized messages and opportunities to unite with some of television's best properties.

WBAY.com's ad delivery management system is DoubleClick. Ad rotation is subject to availability.
Targeting
- We can geo-target an ad by City, State, ZIP Code, Area Code, or DMA
- Your ad can run on specific days and/or during specific hours
- We can target by operating system, Web browser, domain type (e.g., visitors from ".edu" or ".gov"), Internet Service Provider, or bandwidth
Please discuss with your sales representative the plusses and minuses of targeting
Five Ways to Display Multiple Messages
If you want to run multiple ads of the same size in the same campaign, we can schedule them to rotate the following ways:
- Sequential
- Random
- Weighted by percentage (e.g., 50% for message 1, 25% each for message 2 and 3)
- Weighted by best-performing (the ad attracting more clickthroughs appears more often)
- By date (e.g., message 1 until the 10th of the month, message 2 until the 20th of the month, message 3 until the end of the month)

Flash Ad Requirements
- We accept Flash 7 and newer
- We do not recommend hard-coding links, or it may not track clickthroughs. If your creative has a hard-coded link, it must be set to open in a new window ("_blank")
- Ads must have Action Script 2.0 or newer enabled
- Ads must be coded to use the clickTAG variable in Action Script, or we cannot track clickthroughs. An excellent resource on creating a clickTAG can be found at http://www.flashclicktag.com
- Audio/Video must be user-initiated (i.e., does not play automatically)
- Start/Stop and Mute buttons are required
- Z Index in all Rich Media must be set to 999,999 or lower
Pre/Post roll Video
- WBAY.com presents video three ways:
- Video Landing Page (example: Clicking "Video" on the navigation menu)
- Embedded Player (example: Video player on WBAY expo pages)
- Pop-up Player (example: Clicking the associated video link on a story page)
- Each presentation format has the capability of pre- and post-roll video ads and associated ad placements available:
- Video Landing Page - Associated ad size: 300x250
- Embedded Player - Associated ad size: 300x250
- Pop-up Player - Associated ad sizes: 728x90, 300x250, 234x60
- Video should be in MOV (Quicktime) or WMV (Windows Media) format if submitted digitally (i.e., not on videotape)
- Pre-roll ads should be no more than 15 seconds (8-10 recommended)
- All video ads are hosted by our servers
- Pre/post-roll video ads are clickable
Third-Party Hosting and Rich Media Ad Vendors
- WBAY.com accepts rich media ads from numerous third-party vendors which support DoubleClick, including (but not limited to): Atlas, DoubleClick, Eye Blaster, Eye Wonder, and Pointroll
- All ad tags sent should be e-mailed in an attached text file and not in the body of an e-mail
- Alternatively, in place of tags, advertisers who want to host the graphic(s) can supply us with the live URL (i.e., "http", not "ftp") of each asset and WBAY can apply that URL in DoubleClick instead of our own ad media server.
Special instructions for expanding ads (except pencil ads)
- Expanding ads must be user-initiated and must have the same action to close as it was to expand (click to open, click to close, OR mouse over to open, mouse off to close)
- Expandable panel must have a visible close button (X CLOSE) 100% of the time located within the expanded panel
- WBAY.com uses iFrames for advertisements. Because our ads run within iFrames, expandable rich media (aside from pencil ads) will not function properly unless the ad agency has successfully implemented a workaround with our web host, WorldNow. This usually involves the agency supplying WorldNow with a beacon file to be hosted on WBAY.com
Other Information
- All ads that are clicked on must create a new browser window or tab and not take the user away from our Web site.
- We can provide agencies/advertisers with weekly, monthly, or end-of-campaign reports in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format. Reports include a breakdown of ad impressions, clicks, and clickthrough rates for each ad size.
- We must have advance notice if screenshots are required.
- If an ad/order needs to be canceled, we appreciate advance notice.
