Starting center Jason Spitz will not play when the Green Bay Packers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday -- and he won't play the rest of the season. Late Saturday afternoon, the Packers announced they have placed Spitz on the season-ending injured reserve.
Spitz won the starting center job in a training camp battle with Scott Wells, but Spitz has missed the last three games with a back injury.
Wells has started the last five games at center and will presumably do so the rest of the season.
To replace Spitz on the active roster, the Packers promoted receiver Biren Ealy from the practice squad.
