Badgers' football opens season on a Friday night against Utah State

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin football team will open its season at home against Utah State but here's the catch, it's on a Friday night.

The Badgers' season opener vs. Utah State will be on Friday, Sept. 1 at Camp Randall Stadium at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN. This will be a conflict of interest for anyone attending a high school football game that Friday.

The third week of the 2017 WIAA high school football scheduled for Aug. 27-Sept. 2, according to the the WIAA website.

This is the first time the Badgers will open the season on a Friday night since 2002 when Wisconsin defeated Fresno State, 23-21 at Camp Randall. It's will actually the 19th night game in Camp Randall Stadium history.
