GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WBAY) - It's a late night and early morning for the Papermakers baseball team in the WIAA Tournament at Fox Cities Stadium.
A rain delay and an extra inning game earlier on Tuesday meant Kimberly's Division 1 semi final against Eau Claire North didn't even start until 11:30 p.m.
Eau Claire North had upset Green Bay Preble earlier Tuesday in the quarterfinals, and Kimberly had beaten Waunakee.
Papermakers would be down one-nothing in the third when Eau Claire's pitcher uncorks a wild pitch, allowing Kimberly's Ryan Carney to score from third, tying it at one.
Still tied in the bottom of sixth and it's the same problem for Eau Claire. The pitcher throws to the backstop as Kimberly tries a squeeze play.
Zach Lechnir scores, putting Kimberly up 2-1.
That would be the final.
The two wild pitches help Kimberly win with just three hits.
Kimberly will play Sun Prairie for the title on Thursday.
