Warming up your vehicle? Stay with it, police urge

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - As we brace for another round of arctic air, Green Bay Police are urging drivers who warm up their cars to remain with the vehicle.

"Thieves like to stay warm as well--and they may do it by taking your warm car," reads a statement from police.

Green Bay Police took 11 reports of auto thefts in December. Cold weather months of January, February, March, November, and December accounted for 42 percent of all auto thefts in 2017.

Police say stolen vehicles are often used in other crimes.
