GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay VA clinic held its annual 2K walk Wednesday to help homeless veterans.
About 200 people took part in a walk around the Milo C. Huempfner VA Clinic.
People could also visit the mobile clinic which serves veterans around the area.
This is the second year the community was invited to take part in the VA2K, and organizers hope to keep the number growing each year -- as well as get their staff and veterans exercising.
"We want the staff to stay healthy as well," nurse Pam Boucher said. "That's why we did a conjunction. That's why we included the veterans and the employees. And this is a great way to include both of them and participate in something that is for the veterans and includes employees."
Walkers were encouraged to bring a toiletry or gift card to donate to local, homeless veterans.
