APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve hosted a sneak peek tour of its nearly-completed environmental center.
The center called "The Lodge" costs $5.5 million. Faith Technologies is helping Bubolz become sustainable by providing one of the largest and most-advanced microgrids in the Midwest.
The microgrid will power the building using renewable energy, allowing the facility to operate off the grid.
Faith Technologies said their role is to support what the community is asking for.
"We're hearing loud and clear that the need for nature is an aspect that we really want to drive home, that the community needs. So, we're supporting partnerships and organizations in that effort," said Mike Jansen, CEO Faith Technologies.
Both the environmental center and the microgrid are expected to be done by the end of the year.
