Phoenix senior guard Khalil Small scores against Cleveland State on Thursday night at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
Khalil Small scored 25 points and Green Bay defeated Cleveland State 66-44 on Thursday night.
Small moved up four spots to No. 20 on the all-time Phoenix career scoring list with 1,158 points while Green Bay allowed the fewest points by any of their Division I opponents this season.
Hunter Crist added 12 points and Manny Patterson had 11 points and 13 rebounds for his first career double-double.
In their previous meeting on Jan. 4, Green Bay (9-15, 4-7 Horizon League) lost to the Vikings 80-79. But Thursday, a 3-pointer from Crist followed by a jumper by Small gave the Phoenix a 21-7 lead on their way to a 32-13 halftime advantage with the lead reaching 24 points in the second half.
Dontel Highsmith scored 10 points for Cleveland State (5-17, 2-7), which shot just 28 percent, only 4 of 20 from the arc, and was outscored 16-0 off turnovers.
