MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A 6-year-old girl is showing off the buck she shot on the second day of gun-deer season.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources tweeted out a photo of the girl in blaze orange and a pink winter coat, kneeling beside a young buck.
The DNR said, "Lexi sat many hours yesterday without success but today her persistence paid off."
It said her dad had "tears of joy."
Gov. Scott Walker signed a bill last week removing the age restriction for mentored deer hunts.
The DNR didn't say where the buck was hunted, but the conservation warden who took the photograph serves Marathon County, according to the DNR website.
