UPDATE: Names of victims in second fatal crash in Fond du Lac County released

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) -- Two people are dead after a crash in Fond du Lac County on Saturday making it the second deadly crash of the day in the county.

The Sheriff's office says the crash happened on STH 49 south of Whooley Road in the Town of Alto at about 3:25 p.m.

Investigators say a southbound vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Daniel D. Emmer, lost control on the snow covered highway causing the vehicle to cross the centerline, striking a northbound vehicle.

The Emmer and his passenger, 27-year-old Brian C. Emmer, Jr., died at the scene.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, 43-year-old Amy M. Huenink and her 14-year-old passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain control of a vehicle appear to be factors in the crash.

STH49 was closed in both directions for about three hours.
