Seasons end for Notre Dame, St. Mary's Springs at State Tournament

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The WIAA boys hockey state tournament kicked off on Thursday at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Both Green Bay Notre Dame and St. Mary's Springs lost in the quarterfinals.

HUDSON 7, ST. MARY'S SPRINGS 1
The first game of the day, No. 1 overall seed Hudson (26-1-1) scored the first five goals before the St. Mary's Springs Co-Op got on the board with a goal by Dawson Sarauer in the second period. Hudson added to more goals to win 7-1.

VERONA 4, NOTRE DAME 1
Verona (20-3-3) defeated Notre Dame (18-7-2) by 4-1. Verona led 2-0 after two periods before Notre Dame's Bryce Poshak scored with 2:23 into the third period. Verona then scored score more goals to win 4-1.
