Seahawks CB Sherman has Achilles tendon surgery in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman is no stranger to Green Bay as a professional football player. However, he traveled to Titletown this week for a different purpose: to have surgery on his Achilles tendon.

Sherman tweeted a video of Lambeau Field from his hotel room in the Titletown District.

"But hey, this is where my surgery is, so obviously it's unfortunate that I gotta come out here in these circumstances," Sherman says in his video.

Sherman also tweeted a video from the hospital prior to his surgery.

ESPN reporter Josina Anderson tweeted that she had received a text from Sherman. Sherman told her that Dr. Bob Anderson did his surgery in Green Bay. Anderson works at the new Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in the Titletown District.

The Bellin Health website says Dr. Anderson specializes in sports medicine, foot and ankle reconstruction, and ankle replacements.

Sherman tore his Achilles tendon during the Thursday Night Football match up with the Arizona Cardinals.

Sherman will miss the remainder of the 2017 season.
