Poor road conditions to blame for third fatal crash in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) -- One person is dead after a car crash in Fond du Lac County on Saturday.

Investigators say the crash was caused by poor road conditions.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's office says the crash happened on Highway 23 in the area of CTH M in the Town of Rosendale at about 6 p.m.

Authorities say a westbound vehicle on Highway 23 crossed the centerline and striking an eastbound vehicle head-on.

The westbound vehicle was operated by 34-year-old Rickey L. Allen from Lyndon Station. He was taking to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Two people in the eastbound vehicle, 22-year-old Jacob J. Baus from Mt. Calvary and 22-year-old Colleen D. Elzinga from Evergreen Park., Illinois, were treated and released from the hospital.

This is the third fatal crash in Fond du Lac County on Saturday.
