Police warn of scam targeting people in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The Green Bay Police Department has received a number of calls about another scam hitting the area.

Police say the person who is contacting people saying their child was in an accident on West Mason Street and they are to meet the caller at a gas station.

The caller is also asking for personal information over the phone.

Green Bay Police say to try contacting your loved one first and never give out personal information over the phone.

The calls, at this point, are not from a local area code.
