PEWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) -- Blue-green algae bloom is affecting yet another body of water, this time it's the Pewaukee Beach.
The beach is closed because the algae levels are too high.
There has been blue-green algae build up in Green Bay waterways.
Water specialists say the algae blooms have an early start this year because of warmer temperatures and rainfall.
The Department of Natural Resources website says the algae can make you sick in three ways, through skin contact, by breathing water vapor and drinking it.
According to the Pewaukee City's website, city officials will continue to test the waters until it's safe to swim again.
