GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The Vikings shut out the Packers at the team's last home game of the season at Lambeau Field.

This is the second time this season the Packers have been shut out at home. Final score was 16-0 Vikings.

This is the first game in nine years that holds no weight for the Packers since the team's chances of making it to the playoffs has been squashed.

At game time, temperature was 10 degrees, but it felt like zero. Fans still packed the stadium for the last home game of the season.

Many of the Packers star players are sitting this game out including QB Aaron Rodgers, LB Clay Matthews, CB Demarious Randall, WR Davante Adams, LB Nick Perry, and CB Davon House.

The Vikings rank in the NFL's top 5 for total defense, scoring defense, run defense, pass defense, third down defense, and red zone defense

The wet turf is making the players slip a bit, but the turf will be replaced in the off season according to Mike Spofford, a senior writer for packers.com.

At the end of the first half score is 10-0 Vikings.

There were a number of injuries for the Packers during this game including WR Jordy Neleson and TE Richard Rodgers who did not return to the game after the first half; both have an injury to their shoulder.
