Packers' stars likely to miss game, Vikings' Keenum earning respect

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - On the injury report, the beat-up Packers designation list includes Davante Adams OUT with his concussion, Nick Perry DOUBTFUL with his ailing shoulder, and Clay Matthews as QUESTIONABLE with a hamstring injury.

Of course, Aaron Rodgers will miss the rest of the season after being placed on IR.

Before the Packers and Vikings met the first time around 2 months ago, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said of Case Keenum and the Minneosota QB cadre, “The quarterbacks really don't impress me at all.”

At the time, that bulletin-board material and overall sentiment made sense. Case Keenum was still early on in his fill-in role for Sam Bradford, who was not yet on IR. And Teddy Bridgewater was still waiting to come back.

But now? Keenum has made Clinton-Dix a changed man. Respect has been earned by the former Vikings former afterthought at quarterback. Keenum won't be overlooked Saturday at Lambeau Field.

“Man he has been playing ball and winning ballgames,” Clinton-Dix said. “He has been holding his own. I think he has made a name for himself in this league and he is a hell of a player and as a QB he has been doing a good job. As I said, I think the guys around him make him a lot better, his defense keeps him in ballgames and I think he's a complete player.”
