GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Even if you don't bleed green and gold, you can save a life Thursday by donating blood at Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay Packers are hosting their "Give Back" community blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.
"The need for blood is constant. I tell people it's like a cell phone battery, it constantly needs to be recharged," Laura McGuire of the Red Cross said. "There's an expiration date on blood that people don't know about, so we always want to keep our shelves stocked with blood and provide blood when and where it's needed."
Organizers are hoping to collect 373 donations Thursday.
They say Type O, known as "universal donor" blood, is what doctors use first in trauma situations, so it's needed most.
The blood drive runs through 7 p.m. at the Johnsonville Tailgate Village on the east side of the stadium.
