GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay kicked off (yes, we said it) a new soccer program for its members.
"It's going to be a little bit of everything. It's going to be skill-building, it's going to be scrimmaging, partnering up with other organizations and nearby Boys & Girls Clubs to scrimmage against each other, so it's going to be kind of a full-faceted program for our kids," Stephanie Nespoli, director for communication and development for the club, said.
"It's especially exciting because some of our kiddos don't have the opportunity to do local leagues or summer rec programs, things like that, so for the same price that they're paying to come to club all summer long, they're getting to take part in this program," Nespoli added.
The program is funded by Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, which says it's joining in the club's mission of instilling importance of sportsmanship and a sense of belonging for youth in the community.
Members of the UW-Green Bay men's soccer team were on-hand for the announcement and shared tips and techniques with the young players.
