NEW Zoo reveals gender of baby African penguins

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The African penguin chicks at the NEW Zoo in Green Bay each got their own gender reveal cake.

Zoo officials announced the chick's genders on Wednesday. The only way for us to know the gender of the penguin is through a blood test.

Both of the baby chicks are males and now all they need are names.

The chicks were born just days apart to parents Doodle and Gilligan. The first chick hatched on New Year's Day and the second chick hatched on January 5th.

The zoo says the penguins are an endangered species and hopes these two chicks will help save African penguins from extinction.
