“It's kind of hard, we have to be supportive for each other, because we have another daughter who is in the hospital,” said Efren Gonzalez.
Nikkole and Efren Gonzalez say last weekend was a typical day at the park, but this past weekend was nothing but a nightmare.
Friday night authorities say a driver going the wrong way struck the vehicle their daughters were in on Highway 29 near Bonduel.
Kadenz, age 7, died and her sister, Santanna Gonzalez, is now paralyzed from the waist down.
“I think Santanna is going to pull through, she's very strong, she has now said, if I can't be a vet, I am going to be a judge, because I can do that in a wheelchair,” said Nikkole.
Nikkole and Efren have four other kids and now have to re-build things at home so Santanna is able to get around.
However, the family said it won’t be the same without their little Kadenz, a loving little girl who loved to laugh and most of all, give hugs.
Both Nikkole and Efren plan to stay close with the family of seven-year- old Eli Plagemann who also lost his life that night.
“I feel for them, and I hope that they get some closure, and they can actually talk about it,” said Nikkole.
The Shawano County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that deputies plan to visit Santanna in the hospital on Sunday.
The Sheriff says they will deliver a care package if anyone would like to donate. You can drop it off at the sheriff's office Thursday or Friday before 4 p.m.
