Kaukauna shuts out Oshkosh North in D1 State Quarterfinals

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Kaukauna softball team shut out Oshkosh North 2-0 Thursday afternoon in the WIAA Division 1 State Quarterfinals at Goodman Field in Madison.

Kaukauna senior Rachel Ashauer tripled to right field in the fourth inning bringing in two runs but was thrown out at the plate.

Before Thursday's loss Oshkosh North sophomore pitcher Sydney Supple had not given up a run in the postseason, outscoring teams 40-0.

Kaukauna senior pitcher Hayley Hestekin, playing on the same field she will next year for Wisconsin, had a complete game shutout outdueling Northwestern commit Supple.

Oshkosh North did not give up a run in the two previous meeting with Kaukauna during Fox Valley Association conference play winning 1-0 on April 21 and 5-0 on May 12.

Kaukauna (27-3) advances to D1 Semifinals to play Stevens Point on Friday, June 9 at 9 p.m.

The Oshkosh North Spartans finish the season ends with a record of 24-6.
