GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The strong winds associated with this weekend’s storm are causing concern for those along the water as the threat of ice shoves continues to increase.
Just last week, Greg Ludwig said ice shoves crashed through a cottage in the Town of Union, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Now, Ludwig is worried it might happen again, even after clearing out a lot of the ice this week.
“You don’t know when it’s going to stop,” said Ludwig.
Even Green Bay’s Public Works director, Steve Grenier, is taking precautions along the river.
“That ice can damage or destroy our launch facilities, so in order to protect them, we did send our staff out and we pulled the two up that we had in.”
Those along the water should keep an eye on their properties throughout the weekend.
