GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Police Department welcomed a potbellied visitor Thursday.

Louie, a Vietnamese Potbellied pig, was seized from a home on the city's west side.

Animal Control Officer Mallory Meves says she received a report from city inspection about a pig housed on a resident's front porch. She followed up and found Louie.

Louie's owner did not have a permit for the exotic animal, or appropriate living conditions for the pig, according to Officer Meves. The officer says the pig was a bit thin.

Officer Meves seized the pig and took him to the Bay Area Humane Society.

Louie will be placed up for adoption.

The Police Department posted photos on Facebook of Louie having a meet and greet with Chief Andrew Smith.

Louie's owner was issued a warning for keeping an animal without a permit.
