FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - Governor Scott Walker says to attract talent and develop Wisconsin's workforce, it's important to invest in a local, "creative economy."
Gov. Walker made the comment while visiting the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts in Fond du Lac Monday afternoon.
Mercury Marine and other large employers in the city worked to fund and build it.
The center seeks to attract creative designers and engineers needed by local businesses.
Gov. Walker made the visit ahead of Tuesday's fundraiser with President Donald Trump.
The President will be hosting a closed door fundraiser for Gov. Walker in Milwaukee, in addition to a tour of Waukesha County Technical College.
"He's not only coming to Wisconsin, he's going to do multiple states this week. Then, I'm going to join him and other governors on Thursday at the White House to talk specifically about workforce issues. So, we need his attention, we need his focus on important issues like this," said Gov. Walker.
