Drivers survive near head-on crash on Highway 76

BOVINA, Wis. (WBAY) - Two people are being treated but are expected to recover after they collided almost head-on on Highway 76 in Outagamie County.

The crash happened at 5:30 in the Town of Bovina, near Bear Creek.

According to the sheriff's office, an 18-year-old Shiocton woman going north on Highway 76 intended to turn on to Knorr Road but turned in front of a southbound car driven by a 43-year-old Black Creek man.

Both drivers were airlifted to hospitals by rescue helicopters, but the sheriff's office says their injuries aren't be life-threatening.

Highway 76 was closed in both directions until almost 10 p.m. for the cleanup and crash investigation.

Shiocton Fire and First Responders and Shiocton and Black Creek ambulance services also responded to the crash.
