Courtroom to be renamed after attorney killed in March 22 shooting

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - More than 300 people are expected to attend dedication ceremony to rename a branch in the Marathon County Courthouse after the victim of the March 22 shootings.

The Marathon County Bar Association, together with the judiciary of Marathon County will rename Branch 6 as the Sara Quirt-Sann Memorial Courtroom.

Quirt Sann, 43, had been a lawyer since 2011. She served from time to time as a guardian ad litem in divorce and child support cases, watching out for the interests of the children in those proceedings.

Investigators said she was fatally shot by the estrange husband of one of her clients.

Everest Metro Police Detective Jason Weiland and Marathon Savings Bank employees Dianne Look and Karen Barclay were also killed in the shootings. The shooter died as result of injuries he sustained following an exchange of gunfire with police.
