GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Green Bay Police are once again warning businesses about counterfeit money.
Officers say counterfeit $100 bills are being passed around Green Bay and Ashwaubenon.
This fake bills look like the "new style" $100s, but they have Chinese symbols on them.
The symbols are found on the front and the back of the bill.
Green Bay Police have received five reports of fraud involving these fake bills. Ashwaubenon Public Safety is investigating two cases involving the fake money.
"Investigators are seeing a trend that these incidents are increasing and we are encouraging business owners and residents to check the money they receive in lieu of a payment to ensure counterfeit money is not being used," reads a statement from Green Bay Police.
Additionally, counterfeiters have been known to pass movie prop money as the real deal.
