GREENVILLE, Wis. (WBAY-TV) A contest is bridging the distance to reunite a family during the holiday season.

Fox Communities Credit Union and Appleton International Airport received more than 230 submissions from the community.

"I have the most wonder family here,” Susie Rose said. “I have three brothers that are the best guys in the world."

Inbound from the lone Star State Rose is no longer alone.

Her niece, Katie Joosten wrote to Fox Communities Credit Union why she should be flown to the Fox Cities during the holiday season.

"I couldn't think of anyone more deserving then my Aunt Susie," said Joosten.

Rose was born and raised in Appleton and then moved to Texas with her husband. She says this is only her second time in 43 years, she's been back in the Fox Cities around Christmas time.

"Just wonderful people and I miss them, I miss them,” Rose said. “I want to come back."

Rose can attend the family's holiday party Friday, in person.

"She would normally be Face-Timed or called in and we'd all tell her Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and now she gets to be here," said Joosten.

The teacher from Arlington, Texas will ring in the New Year in the fox cities.

Her only apprehension is the change in temperature.

"I thought oh my gosh, I'm going to come back and freeze to death," said Rose.

Hopefully the love of family-- can help keep her warm.
