GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- NWTC introduced middle school girls to potential careers in trade and technology on Wednesday.
"Girls in Trades" is an event to teach girls about jobs traditionally held by men.
The girls spent the day doing hands-on activities with masonry, robots and electronics.
"When you think of construction, you typically think of men and the construction field. We're trying to get the girls to understand that it's not just meant and women can don these and women are the next leaders of the trade," said Anna Gilson, Work Force Development Assistant for Boldt Construction.
About 200 8th grade girls took part in the event, which is part of the Women at Work program.
