APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) -- A number of dogs looking for a new home arrived in Appleton from flood ravaged Houston, Texas on Monday afternoon.
A plane carrying 56 dogs landed at the Appleton International Airport.
Six of the dogs will go to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, and the other 50 will be taken to the Fox Valley Humane Association.
The dogs were from shelters in areas that were hit hard by recent hurricanes. The dogs have either been surrendered by their owners, or have been in the Houston shelter for an extended period of time.
All of the dogs will receive a medical exam, vaccinations, spayed or neutered and be temperament tested before they are put up for adoption.
