The current exhibition features three new shows. “The Light in Cuban Eyes: Selections from the Madeleine P. Plonsker Collection of Contemporary Cuban Photography” features photographs taken between 1992-2012, a difficult period in Cuba’s history following the loss of financial support from the former Soviet Union. “Pulped Under Pressure” examines the art of handmade paper. Seven female artists incorporate materials ranging from junk mail and egg cartons to heirloom plants in printmaking, letterpress, papercutting and installation works. “Through the Lens: Recent Acquisitions in Photography” showcases new additions to Lawrence’s permanent collection, including two images by Lawrence studio art faculty John Shimon and the late Julie Lindemann. Hours: Tue.-Fri. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Sat.-Sun. noon – 4 p.m.; closed Mondays. Free and open to the public.

2018 Green Bay Film Festival Weekend Extravaganza Friday Night Films - The Little Princess, The Drawer Boy

Event Dates and Times

3/2/2018 - Starts: 7:00 PM
St. Norbert College: Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts - Webb Theatre 315 Third St. De Pere, WI 54115
"The 2018 Green Bay Film Festival continues with our Weekend Extravaganza Friday Night Films - ""The Little Princess"" & ""The Drawer Boy"".
SYNOPSIS: The Little Princess - Sometimes hope appears when you least expect it. A man going through a deep depression has a chance and random encounter with a little girl that reminds him of the beauty and simplicity of life.
SYNOPSIS: The Drawer Boy - 1972. Miles, a young theatre actor from Toronto, arrives in rural Ontario at the home of Angus and Morgan, two aging bachelor farmers. Miles stays with the two farmers in order to gather stories about rural life and write a play abut it. All three of their lives are irrevocably altered when art attempts to imitate life and the line between truth and fiction is crossed. Although the clash between rural shrewdness and urban naiveté initially makes this film a comedy, the story ultimately evolves into a compelling drama of loyal friendship, lost love and abiding devotion. The Drawer Boy makes us aware of the small yet important difference between truth and fiction. And in doing so it exposes history not as a faithful documentation of the past but merely as a collective agreement of values."
Tickets at the door. Adults $7.00
