Wisconsin is establishing another way to keep tabs on registered sex offenders in the state, with a toll-free number called the "SAFE Tip Hotline."
It's part of Governor Jim Doyle's Sex offender Apprehension and Felony Enforcement (SAFE) initiative.
Callers can report information about non-compliant sex offenders to the Department of Corrections sex offender registry staff on weekdays, such as an offender violating a non-sobriety condition of parole, or moving without reporting the new address to the state.
The hotline number is 1-877-234-0085
Information can also be emailed to the DOC staff, docsafetips@doc.state.wi.us
