The Packers could very well have their third different starting offensive line in as many weeks when they host the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. What the team isn't saying yet is if the move is out of necessity or due to poor performance.
Rookie T.J. Lang took most of the reps there Wednesday and probably would have even if Allen Barbre weren't limited with a mild concussion.
After being drafted, Lang was in the mix at right tackle during the minicamp and OTAs but he played strictly inside during training camp. But he has two starts at left tackle to his credit.
"It's been a while since I've played. I mean, in camp it was guard and Brenno and Allen were at tackle, so it's different. It's good, though, to be able to play left, right in, or outside on the line. Gives me more versatility and allows me to help out more and play more positions, and I'll play whenever or wherever they need me to play," Lang said.
Rookie Brad Jones was the starting left outside backer Wednesday. Brady Poppinga has a quad injury and Aaron Kampman is out at least until Friday with a concussion.
Kampman says he feels better but all he can do is rest until the symptoms subside.
Kampman's injury happened on his fourth play of last Sunday's game but he kept playing until the fourth quarter, when he finally told the medical staff.
"You are kind of in your own head that it's not that bad. You know your assignments and the plays, but then I started to notice some things were not right, then I said I am hurting myself and the team and it is time to come out," Kampman said.
Jordy Nelson was back at practice Wednesday. Nelson has been sidelined with a sprained knee suffered in the Detroit game. He should play Sunday but probably won't return kicks.
