Associated Press - October 28, 2009 5:15 PM ET

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - President Barack Obama's approval ratings dropped by 10 percentage points in the latest St. Norbert College Survey Center Poll.

The poll shows that 50 percent of Wisconsin residents approve of the job Obama is doing. That is down from 60 percent when the poll was last done in April.

Thirty-eight percent of respondents say they think the country is going in the right direction. In the spring that was at 41 percent.

A majority, 59 percent, say they do not think Obama deserved to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Thirty-four percent say he did deserve it.

The random telephone poll of 400 residents was sponsored by Wisconsin Public Radio. It was done between Oct. 13 and Oct. 22 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
