GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A nonprofit group is providing free home repairs to a Green Bay veteran who suffered severe injuries in Iraq.
Rebuilding Together is a Washington, D.C.-based group that provides free home repairs for veterans and low-income Americans.
The group plans to finish its work at the home of Army Sgt. Mark Meunier (MIN'-yer) this weekend.
The 36-year-old was injured by two bombs in Iraq in 2005. He suffered brain injuries and hurt his back and leg. He can walk only short distances.
The group is replacing the roof and windows, installing a porch ramp and making the bathroom easier to navigate.
Meunier says he's overwhelmed by people's generosity. He's says it's hard to accept charity when so many other soldiers have suffered more.
